I had never been to Ile de Ré before - what a beautiful place. Connected to the mainland by bridge, it’s just a short taxi ride from La Rochelle airport. Old cobbled streets, pretty harbours and waterside restaurants all connected by a network of cycle paths on a pan-flat landscape.
